after returning from florida, i've decided we should make a blatant effort to get away for a week or two next year and it makes sense to use our villa as its piss cheap.

flights vary on the time of year but the first half of june is available so it really depends on who is up for it and who can get time off and funds to pay for it.

i spoke to sammyboy pedro mango and em, and we're all interested.

who else fancies a getaway
villa will be about £300pw to cover expenses
my brother is going out in the second half of june and he's paying £415 for the flight and as they'res 13 people going they're gettign 2x 8 seater minivans bundled in to the price.

any thoughts

Guess where I am first two weeks of June.

Yes, it's Wales.

Nevermind, I've heard Florida's a bit crap anyway.

Seriously though, isn't it going to be a bit hot in June?
TheWoz
well it'll be about 90 in june, which is nice. but its not particularly hot, everywhere is air conditioned anyway.

the villa is available in april 23rd for a few weeks. it really depends on when everyone is free, and wants to go.

My family in Florida say anyone who visits in the summer is fucking crazy. I'm going to Miami next week. Apparently it's a "perfect" 75 degrees.

People in California concur. Why not vacation here? There's the original (and best) Disneyland, gorgeous beaches, and, if timed right, possibly a free house in San Diego. We are lacking in the hurricanes, chiggers, and more mosquitos than people departments though. Of course, that just means that you have a smaller chance of being swept out to sea or covered in red, itchy welts.

Plus, it should be hovering in the high seventies/low eighties temp.-wise--thus ridding you of the need to develop portable air-conditioning units.

Oh, the best part? No connection to anyone named Bush--and you have a better chance of spotting the Terminator wandering about Sacramento.

It's just a thought.

Ween Pie, the ball is back in your court.

The good lady has one or two (or seven) good points.

Although, to be honest, Jonnyboy has really sold me the idea of Wales. Come on, own up, thats really where you're based isn't it? You just pop back to St Albans occasionally to revise.

Is it kind of 'back to basics' accounting? i.e. counting sheep. To be honest I could do that in my sleep.
TheWoz
sheep, sheep, sheep, crocodile?
DanSon
mushroom mushroom

You should have said gorgeous *babes* - that would have sold it! I'm well up for a California trip at some point. No idea when. I'm even more up for a(n) Hawaii visit. Hola!

What the hell is a chigger?
Jennie
This is a link to some info about chiggers. Horrible little bugs. I would have mentioned the babes, but I assumed that was a given. It is California after all.
DanSon
chiggers - i wish i had never asked. it's one of those things that once you have knowledge of it you are bound to get it.
and where am I catching a flight to in 5 hours? Yep. Florida.
jonnyploy
Amazing news! I'm not in Wales on the 23rd April!

Nor am I booked to a client! Let's go!

Woo!

King
...and Gil Grissom can use chigger bites as evidence that you murdered some bloke...so there.

Yep; I'm still alive.
