Just thought I'd share this video gem with you guys.
Tart - lucky I didn't take your board in the end. Ended taking out a big chunk of the one I rented!

Dans Snowboarding Jump (Click and it plays in a new window)

Yep it hurt! But it was a damn cool view. 'Regained conciousness' minus my sunglasses, one glove and any sembelance of orientation. Oh and spitting blood. Awsome. And this was the second time I landed on my head from this jump (hence reference to 'should have learn't his lesson!').

Montgenevre for 3.5 days skiing. All in all an awsome holiday. I'd say a perfect length of time to ski. Woke at 4am Wednesday, flight 7am, resort by 1pm. Lunch, onto slopes by 3:30 for a quick intro to the mountain. Then 3 full days skiing flying back at 10pm on Saturday. Sunday to recover and relax.

Montgenevre is a nice resort - not too small and really quite interesting runs. April 4th was a little on the icy/slushy side but still quite enjoyable. Any later and it would probably not be so great.

Found a room for 46 euros a night for 2 people + 13 euros per person thereafter (up to 4 or 5 people). Excellent value and directly across from the ski lift (Chalet de Sports, Montgenere)

Also all 4 of my Uni mates managed to draw blood. Me in that jump, another with a gash to the nose (same jump), a third had 6 stiches to his head (own ski went into the back of it in a fall) and the last a bloody nose in a puch-up with his brother in a bar. Quality entertainment.

9/10 chalet value
7/10 piste layout
5/10 snow condition
9/10 Holiday overall.

FUH-KiNg BriLLYaaaaaaaNT!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa!

Mate very impressive even though you did stack it mightily! I fear you may have won some cool sort of slope cred for that one and good on you. I think perhaps you need to work on tucking your head into your tummy once you've flipped...if you can do it off a diving board it must be that simple.

I'm going to watch it again - hahahahaha.

Brilliant mate - hope you're still the King of Sums after it...

Jesus Dan; you're feckin nuts!

oh. shit.

although I did like the "I'm okay. really. I just fell on my head." thumbs-up you managed to give. Right before you fell on your face.

Nice one son, I see your coming on well...

You weren't travelling too fast by the look of things, your airtime was perfect.
You did however take off a little upside down... well done for not getting a truly serious injury though...

Love that comment =)

Cheers all - definitely still good to have full control of all 4 limbs after that one. Was completely disoriented and the hood randomly deciding to put itself on my head didn't help.

Problem with the jump was that it was on a slope so you attacked the jump heavily on an edge instead of reasonably balanced. This mean't you left contact with Earth unbalanced and that put me upside down pretty quickly.

Looking forward to my next ski trip now though. Looking to buy some flow bindings. Those AMP 5's look cool. Or may be AMP 9's. Opinions?

You wanna get above bog standard but once you're there as far as I can tell it's spend as much as you're happy with; I'm sure you get something for the extra 4 Amps but I don't know what. My 5s were cool. If you can/want to afford 9s then they'll prob be better. May not be worth going further though.

She fell over! She fell over!

If you think of it as a 'slightly off' 360 corkscrew it becomes even more impressive.

Very, very cool.

just thought i'd boast about the fact that a sports company found that video on youtube and asked for permission to use it in their upcoming advertising campaign =)

Apparently they are launching a product that you can wear on your wrist that measures your airtime during a jump.

It's called the "Air Pod" and they said they'll send me one free. Whoohoo! As if I didn't already have enough motivation to throw myself of things at high speed and funny angles.

Tart
that's genius...
