Just thought I'd share this video gem with you guys.
Tart - lucky I didn't take your board in the end. Ended taking out a big chunk of the one I rented!
Dans Snowboarding Jump (Click and it plays in a new window)
Yep it hurt! But it was a damn cool view. 'Regained conciousness' minus my sunglasses, one glove and any sembelance of orientation. Oh and spitting blood. Awsome. And this was the second time I landed on my head from this jump (hence reference to 'should have learn't his lesson!').
Montgenevre for 3.5 days skiing. All in all an awsome holiday. I'd say a perfect length of time to ski. Woke at 4am Wednesday, flight 7am, resort by 1pm. Lunch, onto slopes by 3:30 for a quick intro to the mountain. Then 3 full days skiing flying back at 10pm on Saturday. Sunday to recover and relax.
Montgenevre is a nice resort - not too small and really quite interesting runs. April 4th was a little on the icy/slushy side but still quite enjoyable. Any later and it would probably not be so great.
Found a room for 46 euros a night for 2 people + 13 euros per person thereafter (up to 4 or 5 people). Excellent value and directly across from the ski lift (Chalet de Sports, Montgenere)
Also all 4 of my Uni mates managed to draw blood. Me in that jump, another with a gash to the nose (same jump), a third had 6 stiches to his head (own ski went into the back of it in a fall) and the last a bloody nose in a puch-up with his brother in a bar. Quality entertainment.
9/10 chalet value
7/10 piste layout
5/10 snow condition
9/10 Holiday overall.
