Mango
Right guys need some help, I recon between you guys you can come up with a few hours of classic tunes for the dancefloor for my wedding in June 2007.
QUOTE
eg. Michael Jackson's Billie Jean or Lionel Richie's Dancing On The Ceiling or even (if we are very lucky) Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer.

I have a few classics in there already like:

Ice ice baby
warren-G Regulate
I want you back- Jackson5
Gold Finger-James Bond
I feel Good- James Brown
Oasis-Champagne Supernove and Roll with it
Tom Jones - Mama told me not to come
Britney Spears- Baby one more time
Roxette - It must have been love
Eye of the tiger
Danger Zone-top Gun
Ghost Busters Theme tune
C is for cookie-Cookie Monster
Teenage mutant ninja turtles
He-Man theme song

The list goes on, but you get the picture
So add some classics to the list so I can involve you guys too, as it's quite difficult due to distance to help with other things.
Cheers Mango
King
Hi-ho silver lining?
Jump Around- House of Pain
Jump - Van Halen
Money for Nothing - Dire Straights
Fairweather Friend - Symposium
High - Feeder
Place your hands - Reef
Trains to Brazil - Guillemots
On a Ragga tip (I think)
Rescue Me - (Is it Martha and the Vandellas?)
Inside - Stiltskin
Semi-Charmed Life - 3EB
My Own Worst Enemy - Lit
Living On The Edge - Aerosmith
Baba O'Riley - The Who

Rock In Black - Go Home Productions ... What no Queen? Not even when mixed with AC/DC? In that case how about Uptight Killer?

All F**ked Up by Everclear? OK ok that's a little too robust for you is it? Fine, fine, how about sexually suggestive? Love in an Elevator by Aerosmith...no?
DanSon
99 red balloons.
jonnyploy
I could get carried away here, so I'll ration myself to one suggestion at a time.

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
DanSon
That Offspring song where they shout:

"You STUPID DUMB-SH*T GODAMN MOTHERFU*CKER!"

That'll go down well.
Mango
OK looks like I'm gunna have to set some ground rules:

a.) No songs with swearing, right you are in saying that, That won't go down to well, especially as 3/4 of the people attanding are from my church

b.) You can add more than one song at a time, I am counting on you Jonnyploy for some true classics, you too Dub, Ween and King!

c.) Can't think of anymore, oh Sam ie. my Sam doesn't like Queen (It's because she's been brought up to not like it, so unfortunately no queen even though queen is classic.)

d.)

- If it's only used once and you cannot really hear it then it's ok but if it's anything like Tenacious D - You F***er then NO
King

Lion King - Hakuna Mattata
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Eye of the Tiger
Tiger Feet

ok seriously -

How about your classic Two Princes song?

New York New York - Frank Sinatra
Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel - Tavares
Doin' The Do - Betty Boo
Everybody Dance Now - C&C Music Factory

How do you like them apples?

If King were dead, he'd be spinning in his grave.

BTW, I'm gutted that Queen are off the menu, but I agree wholeheartedly with Dan's choice of Tiger Feet.

I'm not done yet...

Less cheesy, but no less good:

Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry
Hey Boy, Hey Girl - Chemical Brothers
My My My - Armand Van Helden
Sammyboy
Well from experience what usually happens at these things is that Jonnyboy and I cut some serious shapes on the dancefloor while the rest of you sit in a corner talking about the XBox 720+ Alpha.

But yes I agree with all these suggestions.

While Jonnyboy has gone heavily on the 80's cheddar (surprise), i think you should get some floor-fillers in there, cant be arsed to check if these have already been suggested so deal with it.

Let me Clear My Throat - ? cant remember
Groove is in the Heart - Dee Lite
This is how we do it - Montell Jordan
Trick me - Kelis
Hey Ya - Outkast
Billie Jean
Place Your Hands
King

Well I'm certainly getting a grave ready...not sure I'll be the one filling it though.

I think that Theme to Dance Poker needs to be in there...(a very in joke that one).

That be fighting talk, I fancy.

Anyway, floorfillers...let me think:

Jump Around usually does the trick, but I see King has already mentioned it.

I'll try to think of some others, and as a special treat to King, I'll avoid the 80s. Can't make any promises about the 60s and 70s though.
DanSon
That spinning around like a record song (from Wedding Singer not from Kylie)
Can't get you out of my head (THAT one is from Kylie)
That song from my best friend's wedding
If you're playing Billie jean you have to include Smooth Criminal
That 4 non-blondes song
That 'slide' song. Matchbox 20?

Sorry that reads more like a pub quiz than a song list but i'm not very good with my "Actual names of songs". =)

jonnyploy
Kung Fu Fighting – Carl Douglas
Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use) – Sub Sub
Ooh La La – The Wiseguys
Come Baby Come – K7
Boom Shake The Room – Fresh Prince
Build Me Up Buttercup – The Foundations
Superstition – Stevie Wonder

Dannyboy: I believe that the song from My Best Friend's Wedding is Say A Little Prayer, but you want the Aretha version, not the cack version on the soundtrack.
DanSon
Yes yes that's the one. Thank you.

What was that slide song? Not Oasis.
Very distincitive guitar intro.
jonnyploy
Goo Goo Dolls I'd have thought.
Tart
unless of course you meant "push", which was matchbox20
DanSon
Ah yes the googoo dolls was the one. thanks. I always get them confused with the crash test dummies for some reason (dolls / dummies?)

The matchbox20 one i like is Hang.

Also Time from the Blowfish is good.

Both of the last two heard for the first time in Grazzas shed with Woz and Gov jamming in a rainy shed...
Sammyboy
Of course we know that all these records are just going to be the warm-up for the Feedback gig to round off the celebrations.

Thoughts?

Sam's Wedding Dress

Here you go mango, bring a touch of class to the event.
govinddhar
'ERE!!

When's the wedding then?

Is there some feedback reunion thing going on?

Swallowed - Bush
Plush - Stone Temple Pilots
RHCP - everything
Stiltskin - Inside

Like how many times are we going to list our favourite songs - shouldnt all this be sitting in the archive from all those fav songs posts we've constantly done.

tsk tsk tsk

And lets chuck in some Barry shall we...

Yeeeeaaaaahhhh baybaaayyy.

Marno,

It looks like there's more than enough music in this thread already, but I would like to make one suggestion:

The Other Way - Annie Christian

We just need to track down Drew's CD.

Warren, have you got any thoughts on its location?

Perfect example of why we need a wiki!

And project after that - some really easy way to publish photos. those big public websites don't much appeal in their useability - though admittedly i've not tried them all that much.

you see, i could type out some elaborate witty story about how i managed to 'find' an annie christian CD which happened to be in the same exact condition as droo's with the same illegible scrawl scratched into the top with a compass

however, knowing that the likelyhood of droo ever having an internet connection that he could use to get on the internet, and then having the foresight (or farsight: PD reference for you there pedro) to remember the URL for badgerfest, and then for him to remember his password AND username is pretty remote...

drew, i have your annie christian CD... always have... always will
DanSon
Woz - you're right. a week later and he hasn't noticed. Never has. Never will.

Hilarious post - good work.
jonnyploy
Things might be changing. I had an encounter with the Lesser-Spotted Drew James on MSN the other day. Yes folks, he's back online!

I give it a month before he's disconnected.
