What are your plans for the weekend before Christmas?
I'm coming down to Hertford on the Friday.
Warren has said that he will be around.

Are we referring to Friday 22nd and onwards? If so, then my plans for the Friday are:
Finish work at lunchtime, walk up into St Albans, go into a pub, drink, drink, eat, drink, fall over. Anyone who wants to join is more than welcome. As yet, have no plans for the rest of that weekend except frantically buying presents.

I will be coming back to Hertford at some point on the Saturday. Saturday night drinkypoos anyone?? Will be busy Sunday.
Respec.
Pete, congratulations on starting a topic by yourself about a social gathering. You've come a long way my son.

Saturday's good.
More likely to make the Saturday myself too.
Anyone able to put me up for the night if the shindig goes on late?

Dan, I should be able to help you out on that front.
There seems to be a consensus building around Saturday. We must now focus on the choice of venue.
Pete - if you could, muchos gracias!
Venue: who has a Wii? ;o)
Are people up for getting out in Hertford or congregating at somebody's pad? You'd be welcome up in Cambridge but Hertford is probably easier for everyone. I'll probably arrange a Cambridge get together in January as my 25th.
Also list of rare-badgers who might need alternative communiques:
MW
Noj
Doo
Mango
Loren
Who else?

I have slapped 'the Williams'
watch this space...
I have my Mum/ Mike/Evil Twin/His girlfriend down for christmas, so can't make any wii based shenanigans, in spite of having one of the shiny boxes all for myself.
I will however be around, if not attending the actual event, for new years, so could offer up some hand waving entertainment if you lot are down for Ween's on the days around the big day.

Consider me duly slapped.
I will be in Hertford on December 23 and will definitely be up for a "conflagranahan"... or something.

Sorry; I thought it went without saying that as my parents don't live in Hertford I probably won't be there. In fact I won't be there. I'll be in Gloucestershire.
I'll be up after for Jon's thing though. (Pause for applause)

On behalf of the tartiflette I am posting.
We will be in the snowy alps riding planks down snowy mountains.
Hence cannot attend weekend before christmas gathering.
Ho ho ho Ha ha ha Hum.

Mango can't make it either - which means the only ones left to slap are Loren and Drew.
I'll see whether we can use my place for a conflagranahan, but will largely depend on what my parents say.
You may have noticed me trying to bring in the word 'conflagranahan' recently. This is due to me thinking that a 'conflagration' was a long word for a reunion or meeting, mixed with the legendary Jan McGranahan.
I just looked up conflagration and it actually means 'a large destructive blaze'.
I think I must have got mixed up with 'congregation', however I still maintain we should try and spread the usage of the term 'conflagranahan'.
Thoughts?

I think we should use the word 'cornflake' instead.

Ok we have provisional clearance for the conflagranahan/cornflake at my house on the 23rd. Perhaps we start at mine then go down to the Barge? Or stay at mine?
Just aware of the drink/drive, staying at mine conundrum.
is it worth looking at something like paddyfields? or other similar eatery?
otherwise i'm happy with the plan. barge followed by kicking a prawn cracker wrapper up port hill..
in actual fact... ignore confrlagranahan/conflake... prawn-cracker-wrapper is pure genius
throw in a "for jaffa cake's sake" every now and then to keep them on their toes and you're sorted!

Right this is the plan
Turn up at mine anywhere between 6 and 7:30pm. Stroll down to Paddyfields for 8pm (I've booked the table). Possible swift one in the Barge afterwards? Or back to mine for chilling.
Confirmed:
Pedro von Blurk
Ween Pie
Jonnyploy
Sam Pie
Dannyboy
The Williams
Denied:
Mango
Tart
Kingol
Noj
Unavailable to any form of communication pending further investigation:
Drew
Loren
If anyone can track them down and get them to Paddyfields on Saturday you win a biscuit.
Lift it to the max
Sounds good. Definitely up for one at the Barge. OUTside - nice balmy evenings mustn't go to waste!
