I have been a little remiss; I moved in in October (ooh double word) and have only had three friends to stay. It is, therefore, a little cold. I would like to extend an invitation to all the 'fest to 'hang out' on an up-coming weekend e.g. 31st/1st March/April. If anyone has any ideas as to how we can spice up the usual drinking & sitting in front of telly routine, or better weekends, they are welcome: The delights of local pubs/take outs/restaurants are, of course, available if you fancy.
I also have a mattress, a sofa and some floor space for the overnighting.
Let me know your innermost thoughts.

My innermost thoughts:
'Arse, I have something planned for that weekend.'
'I wonder if I'll finish work on time tomorrow.'
'Oh, what a feeling, when we're dancing on the ceiling.'
I think the first one is the most relevant.
ditto, i've got plans that weekend...
what say you, king?
Well the weekend is enimently flexible: I may make plans to see my parents on 14th/15th to celebrate b-day but I guess people will be reluctant to return early from Spain to sleep on my floor anyway.
Suggest a better weekend and I shall make it so.

21/22 is better for me. 29th is my sister's birthday.
can't make the 28th have friends staying that weekend (through till 5th May).
21/22 good for me.
King - do you have parking and a toilet? Or do we need to bring both?
OK if 21/22 is good we shall do that.
There is parking and I own a bucket. Will this do? I will need you to bring a leather jacket though Dan.
haha oh my - now where did I put that thing? =)

For the 21/22 April weekend. Any more?
How does everyone feel about a meal at Pizza Express/Zizzi? Would break up the evening. There are plenty of take-aways nearby if you don't fancy it/can't make it in time.
I can definitely make the 21st/22nd now. I managed to cancel my monthly Advanced Ferret Wranglers class so I will be there with bells on.
I agree with the Zizzi's meal idea. Also, may I propose rather a lot of booze, and in that order.
Spank you very much.
Sam, unbeknownst to all here, I happen to be a former Malaysia Ferret Wranglers Champion. So I'll be happy to fill you in on any tuition you are nobly missing for this worthy cause.
King - any plans for Friday 20th? A weekend always feels longer if you start on Friday!

Yes, I suggest we bring our own drink of choice to ensure adequate lamberage.
Disoronno all the way.
A meal at Zizzi's + booze it is.
I have no plans for Friday; I have to work that particular Friday (the only Friday in April I have to work), but if you want to come down and hang out at any time after 4.30pm then you are welcome...I can offer beer, computer games and possibly even food. If you want excitement we'd have to go out.
I do intend to buy beer + snacks...so if someone could tell me what beer all the kids are drinking these day it'd help.
Theakston's Old Peculiar with Jagermeister chaser
Well then - may well head down on Friday after work. Though won't be there at 4:30 - probably more like 7:30/8:30 and would arrive fed. A few drinks with the possibility of a few games just to warm things up for the full on Saturday invasion would be good.
By the way - where the Feck are you? Can I drive or is it train/subway?
Dan
p.s. had a pub lunch in a town called Freckenham. Named tickled me for some reason.
Yep come on down; as I said any time after 4.30 so you're alright.
Directions I was gonna do but no time like the present I suppose:
Planes: Fly to Farnborough airport and give me a call/get a taxi
Trains: Closest station is Blackwater, followed by Camberley, followed by Farnborough. If you get to any of those and call I can pick you up.
Automobiles: My address is :
21 Oakfields
Alexandra Av
Camberley
Surrey
GU15 3BY
Essentially get to Junction 4 of the M3 (you should be able to do that).
So Off at J4.
If you are coming South from the M25 you will come to a large roundabout; take the first exit left then, at the next, smaller roundabout 2nd exit right onto a dual carriageway.
If you are coming North from Soton way you will come straight to this 2nd roundabout so you need to take 1st exit left onto the dual carriageway.
Once on the carriageway go past Sainsbury's and the business park where I work, turning right at the third set of traffic lights.
Go straight on through the industrial park, over a mini roundabout and when the road bends sharp left go straight on (through metal posts 6'6" apart).
When you get to the crossroads turn right, take the next left onto Alexandra Avenue and my block of flats is at the end of the road on the right.
You can park in any of the spaces right at the entrance on the right.
My flat is in the corner. Number 21.

What you saying? is there a mass convergence at kings on Saturday? S'goos news I'm back form boston (I'll explain later) that day. May pop in en route to the Bmuff.
If i missed the point email me or msn me at thepinnacle@hotmail.co.uk or djames@eims.biz or why not both.
Not this Saturday Drew: Saturday 21st April. Come on up mate, it'll be messy.
Edit: Drew is joining us...c'est incroyable!
PS If anyone wants to play x-box bear in mind that I only have one controller
I have booked a table for 7 at Xizzi's for 7.00 pm. I hope this suits everyone. As long as you're here by about half six it'll all be fine. Feel free to turn up earlier also.
Shiny.
is that 7pm on saturday?
i'll be coming down from nottingham on friday, so i might stop in en route for a bit of gamage on the friday night.
then go home again to come back for the main event on saturday as i only live about 40mins away its not such a big deal
Cool join the me & Dan sandwich.
Um...to answer the question, yes restaurant is 7pm Saturday 21st April. You are welcome for gameage Friday but as I said earlier more x-box pads are needed as I have a paltry one.
I've been a bit of a c**nt and double booked myself for the Saturday afternoon.
I'm looking to still come down Friday but then head off for a few hours to my other commitment during SaturDAY and then return in the evening.
If this can all happen will that be fine?
I don't have any xbox controls so will be in Woz's capable hands on that front.
Of course mate, worry not. As long as you can get back for ahlf six it'll all be fine. aHlf...it's a word.
im gonna have to pull out im afraid. i'll have to catch you guys next time around
one mention about laying our hands on his controllers and he pulls out. sheesh! ;op

Dear Member,
This is a gentle reminder that the fifth Haileybury Society London Pub Event will take place from 6.30pm onwards downstairs at The Warwick, 1-3 Warwick Street, London W1R 5WA on Friday 20th April. For those who have not attended before it is a very informal gathering of OHs to chat over a few drinks after work. They have been well supported in the past and we look forward to another successful gathering.
With best wishes,
Roger Woodburn
Associate General Secretary
King - don't suppose you fancy going for a few pints at this? I'm kind of up for it as not been to one before. Have been told they're very laid back and casual.
Hello have we met?
I'll refer you to my sentiments on
This Thread. I can think of many things I'd rather do straight after a long working week than spend and hour on the train for a drink with people I don't like (and you), some of them including ritualistic torture...
However, please don't let my miserable aspect put you off Danny; it'd sure be nice to see you at some point (and get my jacket back damn you) but you can really turn up at any time you want.
Wait - so that is a 'no' then? =)
I thought it might be! It was worth a go. I might go or not.
Ok I've just done some research including where exactly you live. For some reason I thought you were reasonably central to London. Forgive my ignorance.
Given it is going to be a 2-3 hour drive I wouldn't get to yours till, realistically, around 9-10pm. So that being the case I would like to throw spanners everywhere and go and stay in London Friday night, do my other thing in London Saturday afternoon and then head out to Blackwater Saturday around 5ish. A ride would be useful but otherwise will get a bus/taxi as necessary.
Sorry for the mess - I will, however, remember your coat! (if I can find it...)
OK no problem; it is easy to confuse Camberley with Camberwell...I can easily give a lift from Farnborough Main or Blackwater. Whatever's best.

Dan! I'm there. Get your shizzit together. Trying to get Nendick roped in as well.
Bish bash bosh.
good stuff Kingol - much obliged.
Sam! Awsome - I'll attack the ploy on the facebook front - you come up on the rear...
p.s. you can stay at my covent garden flat if you need/want to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL
Thank you and goodnight

Yes, Happy Birthday. Just got it in while it is still your birthday.
Thank-you, thank-you all.
I'd like to thank the academy for this birthday...
My brother turned 30 yesterday; puts it in perspective for me nicely really.

You and your brother have the same birthday??? Mental.
Thats either a major coincidence or very scheduled, scientific and frankly bizarre planning on the part of Mr & Mrs Simonds.
I'm sure you don't even want to think about it.
Er yeah; it's something I've had to come to terms with: Summer holidays make babies in my family; Wales and Germany respectively (shudder).
Well at least I don't have to remember his birth date.

I think that's what they call too much information
So which one is half-sheep and which one is half bratwurst?
(Sorry that just implied all sorts of wrongdoings upon your parentals but I just read it again and pissed myself laughing so sod it - we're all friends here)
Happy Birthday (+1 hour) Mikey! For your present I have bought you a very impressive, yet strangely affordable, jacket. I am sure you'll like it.
oh crap - where on earth did April 18th go.
well, see you in a couple of days.. (;o)
I'm sure I replied to this you know...oh well
Sam, I hoped the 'respectively' would indicate that I like wearing lederhosen whilst drinking beer out of unfeasibly large glasses served by busty wenched, whereas my brother likes to sing about mining and mountains whilst eating chees on toast and waving around leeks and daffodils.
My comment to Dan has now been made somewhat redundant...
