Any word on a date yet?
October 26th.
There will be a block of rooms booked at the
hotel where everything will be happening.
It's one of the oldest hotels in ALL of California. Which makes it....100 years old.
I'll let you know as soon as the fine details of the rooms are worked out.
Congratulations J and P.
Count me in for a trip to the us of a.
(Also hello everyone, I'm back it would seem)
as of now, there is a block of rooms booked at the hotel. It's directly across the street from Balboa Park and within walking distance of the Zoo and various other downtown entertainment opportunities. It should be under "Steres" or "Blake" or "Steres/Blake" or...well, you get the idea. I believe that Jonnyboy found similar deals on Expedia, but it would be worth sending the hotel an email to check it out.

Yes indeed, Expedia seems pretty good. Tizzy and I have booked our room at the hotel through them already.
On a related note, we have also booked our flights. Fly Zoom will be flying direct to San Diego from this summer (the only airline to do so from the UK). The tickets cost us £480 each (including £20 for choosing seats and the extra charge for paying on a credit card) I gather from Pedro that cheaper flights are likely to be available nearer the time, so may be worth waiting. However, the cheaper flights will not be direct. Also, to compound the choice, I think Fly Zoom have now put their prices up due to fuel price increases.
I plan to post a detailed guide on how to get a good price on flights to San Diego or Los Angeles.
Prices are likely to decrease over the next few months, so there is no hurry to book flights.
If you want to get a feel for the market,
kayak.co.uk is worth a look. As Jon said,
Fly Zoom will be flying direct from London to San Diego starting this summer.

Congratulations mate - I can't believe I've been out of touch so long that I missed this! Hearty hearty congrats.
Now is it just me or is it strange that you and Tart who visited us for our non-wedding are getting married sort of like in the same year and that someone else from the group has gone unnoticed. Mikey? Anything to share?
Gimme a chance Gov; I've only just found myself a girlfriend.
