Just saw Queen and Paul Rodgers in Dubai. Cannot believe how bloody good they were. Beyond all the associations with spandex, cross-dressing and village people style antics, the guitar riffs that still get us head banging a la Wayne's World stylee came through in spades. I cannot believe how gigantic Bryan May is - no wonder he's kept that mullet all his life without anyone laughing at him for it.

And they can all sing in incredible signature styles. May came to the front with some sort of oompa loompa band and whacked out a few great tunes. Roger Taylor took the spotlight too and gave us some serious bluesy/southern vocal treats. Of course All Right Now by Paul Rodgers had me air guitaring through those moments in Big School and MUN.

I never thought I'd enjoy this gig, but good God was I surprised. And don't even get me started on when they showed some video footage of Freddie singing the opening lines to Bohemian Rhapsody. Some tears were shed!

Cue the Big Lebowski - 'Even strong men cry...'
