So, given that we have been in our house for nearly 9 months(!), Tizzy and I thought we should probably get round to inviting you all over.

Pete, Jennie and Nik are coming to stay for the weekend of 26th / 27th July and we thought it would be a good idea to have a badgerfest barbecue on the Saturday.

Alas, we have no fire pit, but we do have a barbecue which I used for the first time yesterday, and I can confirm that it does indeed cook burgers, sausages and even fish to a perfectly adequate standard. I will even be making homemade burgers just to sweeten the deal.

Who's in?

There are also a couple of additional spare beds if a couple of you wanted to stay over after the barbecue.
King
We're definitely up for some BBQ action; and a bed please.
jonnyploy
Awesome. Okay, so that just leaves a single bed and probably room for a single air bed somewhere.
Sammyboy
A woo and indeed a hoo.
Jennie
Can't wait!
Matt Williams
Sounds good - count me in!

Have you tested your barbecue's capability for halloumi? wink.gif
jonnyploy
No halloumi testing yet, but you can be the guinea pig.
jonnyploy
Okay, so far we have...

Yes:

Blythin/Nendick x2
Blake x3
Rossiter x3
Riley-Hawkins x3
Walker x4
Simonds/Hassall (I don't know if you have changed your name) x2
Anandappa x3
James/Turla x2
Williams x1
Clifton/Melhuish x2
Watts/Lynch x2

Maybe:

Nagtegaal x 4

You should all feel free to make any special dietary requests here. I already know that Williams wants halloumi and potatoes.
Sammyboy
This is going to be epic.
TheWoz
I'm gonna work on Clifton/Melhuish...
Anyone have any open lines of communication to the Nagtegaals?
jonnyploy
I'm upgrading the Nagtegaals to "maybe" following Sam's message on bookface.
TheWoz
Clifton has been "worked" on... he is on-board.

Looks like a pretty good turn out!
jonnyploy
Wallop.

List above has been updated.

I am mad excited for this.
Sammyboy
Someone needs to dig out that old playlist of tunes we put together along the lines of 'back in the day'

Spank you.
jonnyploy
Doesn't need digging out - it is a permanent fixture in my Spotify playlists.

Wallop.
Matt Williams
Looking forward to this.

What's the address/best way to get there?

Matt
jonnyploy
Okay, some logistics...

Address:

6 Driftwood Avenue
St Albans
AL2 3DE

We will leave the driveway free so there will be plenty of parking.

If you are coming on the train then best to get the Thameslink to St Albans City station and someone will pick you up.

When to arrive (this excludes the Blakes and the Walkers):

Any time from 1pm on the Saturday.

What to bring:

We have food covered, so no need to bring anything on that front apart from any specific baby/child foodstuffs that you might need.

Drink, on the other hand, would be very welcome.

Pete & Jennie: The spare bed is fully made up and we have spare towels for you, so no need to bring any bedding or anything.

Mike and Jess: Some jokers are using our spare towels for the weekend so please could you bring your own when you come on Saturday? Also, we don't have a spare duvet for the sofa bed, so some sort of sleeping bags or duvet would be useful as well (we have spare sheets).

I think that covers it, but I will shout if anything else pops into my head.
Jennie
Hahaha. I'll let Pete know we can leave the spare sheets behind. He always brings his towel though. We have read our Douglas Adams, we know the score. (Nik and I are less attached to our towels, so happy to use yours. smile.gif )
Can't wait!

i've just eaten so much Halloumi that i near puked, so i dont want any more of that thanks. And no mayo or coleslaw because they are both grim and before you offer salad cream instead i shall say that that stuff stinks too.

I do like chocolate.

on some days my son likes everything and on others he hates everything so no point in worrying about him although toast and marmite are usually always well received.

see you 5 am saturday x

You're no longer invited, weirdo.

I take it back, you're forgiven.

I take back my above taking it back. Don't ever talk to me again.
DanSon
I'd like to object to Rosie's objection to Halloumi on the grounds that she's full of...halloumi.

Anne-Maria and I will be taking the train to St. Albans aiming to arrive between 1 and 2pm.

Matt Williams
Thanks to Jon and Tizzy for a great day! It was good to see everyone again.
Jennie
We had a brilliant time. Thanks so much for hosting us!
TheWoz
Good time had by all...
I'm putting Noj's name forward for hosting the next one. His new pad is pretty sweet and it means there is minimal risk of our car breaking down during the 12 minute journey.
jonnyploy
It was awesome to see everyone.

Weekends in the sunshine with friends and barbecued food are definitely the way forward.

Going back to work is definitely not the way forward.
King
Yes thanks JB & Tizmeister it was most lovely.

I have photos. What should I do with them? Does anyone have objections to Bookface for instance? If so is there somewhere else a bit more private I can put up smallish versions? I have 70ish at about 30 MB when compressed. I can pass on full size to anyone that wants them then.

Here's Dan enjoying an Elvis burger to get us started...

TheWoz
I'm happy with the book of faces, or alternatively Dropbox/Google+
Em mentioned you had a nice one of my boy. So I wouldn't mind a full res version of anything with us in it...

Ta muchly
jonnyploy
Facefeck is fine by me as well.
Sammyboy
Face feck fine
DanSon
Mmmm it was good. Though I don't know why it was called an Elvis burger unless Elvis was known, apart from his singing, as being both juicy and very tasty.
King
Presumably because he was famous in his later years for enjoying a burger or three.
jonnyploy
Mmmmm...BURGER.

(I made them again this weekend).
