I'm looking for a video clip of Stephen Hawking's appearances in The Simpsons and/or Star Trek, but I'm having no luck. If anyone with a bit of spare time on their hands (i.e. Pete) could help me look then I would be grateful. Don't expect me to give you anything in return though.
i can give you a clip (or whole episode) with him in from Futurama. but not simpsons /Star trek.
I cannot imagine that it will be too difficult to get a hold of the clips.
I should have something for you by the end of the week.

Cheers geezers.
i have the episode in asf format, but im sure i can convert it into what ever you need it to be, give me a few hours
hmm, i've hit a few snags, the asf file i have stops has a dodgy corrupt bit in it, unfortunately, its right in the middle of a line from mr. hawking
when do you need this by, and do you need all of it, i can cut around the broken bit
i dont know if any other versions/copies of the episode are corrupt too.

I happen to have a copy of the Simpsons episode in "iamacomplete.twat" format, but you might want to consider the Futurama episode in "hurgenburgenturgen" format. I have both available on my hard drive, which is currently available at WH Smith for
Star TrekThe latest
divx codec plays it quite nicely.
Simpsons clip will be ready soon.

Thanks Pete, but I have a couple of problems.
Firstly, the version of Windows Media Player on the UCL computers is shit and can only play the audio.
Second, I can't install the divx codec because, unsurprisingly, I do not have permission.
This would all be fine if all I needed to do was watch it at home, but unfortunately it's going on my assessed website at uni and therefore has to able to play there.
I know it's going to be difficult for you guys, but is there anyway of getting these clips in a format that is a couple of years out of date? There might then be a small chance that I can actually play it on the uni pcs.
So in answer to your questions Ween:
As simple a format as possible would be good.
I don't need it urgently, but it would be useful if I had something by the end of next week. The deadline isn't until the beginning of next term though, so don't kill yourselves.
Sammyboy, I appreciate your efforts at getting a version in the Iamacomplete.twat format, but I think that the thismediaplayerisacompletepieceof.shit format might work better.
Thanks again everyone, I appreciate it.
Here is a futurama clip with Mr Hawking in. Its a whole 6 minute section, but if you tell me which bits you want i'll cut them out in better quality.

I have encoded the clips using the windows media 9 codec:
Star TrekSimpsonsIf they don't play on the UCL computers then I'll try something else.

Still audio only I'm afraid.
Futurama is wicked though, think I want pretty much all of it. Don't bother doing it better quality though, cos I'm only allowed to use a certain amount of space.
I've gone for MPEG 1 this time:
Star TrekSimpsonsIf they don't play on the UCL computers then I give up.
