An Attila the Hun (according to Schott's Miscellany), nice one le geezer! I am definitely up for a bit of Aroma-age. Bo.
Had job interview today, but I think they were supposed to tell me by now if I have the job, so looks like a no-no.

A quick update of how my job is going 1 year on.
I am now in charge of the sales for our main conference (Your Future In Europe - 2,350 people is my target) AND our main tour destination (Paris), both of which I did this year just gone but not at the same time. Last year I did conference September - November and Paris was November - July. So quite a lot of work in other words. There has been a lot of coming and going this summer, with 4 people leaving and 6 new people starting in a team which has now grown to 15.
It is going well and I do enjoy it now it is busy again as the summer was absolutely fecjing DEAD!
We have a new Sales Manager who is ok but comes out with some ridiculous phrases and likes to do the whole high fives thing. "Smoke them out", "Box them into a corner", "Let's lay down a blueprint", "I want your business"... not quite David Brent but getting there.
I think I will see how this year goes but Plan A at the moment is to ditch this job in May/June time and go to work for the parent company Banks Sadler in Camden, who do corporate conference stuff for the likes of Glaxo, IBM and Price Waterhouse.
Selectah.
Would you like to work in an office with David Brent as boss?
I have two profiles because I forgot my password to the original one I created.
feel free to mock,
So hows it going now is it day 2?

I've been in Raeding for induction this week and am going to North Wales for 2 weeks exam training and tuition on Sunday, I kid you not. Following that I'll be in Watford for a week for work-based training. Then, four weeks after actually starting, I'll set foot in the St Albans office where I'll be working. Then I'll probably be sent out on an audit for a client. All in all, not much of my time is going to be spent in the office.
It's all a bit bonkers really.
God I hate my job:
Oct 20 - 22: Frankfurt & Heidelberg (Hotel Audits)
Nov 6 & 7: Prague (Office Jolly)
Nov 8: World Travel Market (London's Excel)
Nov 11 & 12: Brussels (Eurostar 10th anniversary)
Nov 19 - 21: Paris (General Mooch About)
Someone's got to do it.

Ahoy hoy.
Some of you already know, some of you don't know, but I have somehow managed to land a job at the London Stock Exchange.
It continues my progress into ridiculously corporate sluttiness and means I get an even posher computer. Its a temporary contract for now - 5 months - but hopefully if I give them all a good spanking between now and August they will be forced to keep me on.
I'll be working on their events team so dealing mostly with press conferences, corporate hospitality etc.
Word to your mother.

Well done Sampie! I've already said that to your face, but thought I'd put it in writing too. Corporate sluttishness appears to be the way forward - go to it.

Ween & Em: Have you moved into your new place yet? How are the jobs going? When is the housewarming?
King: Have your parents sold up yet? Have you sorted a flat yet?
Jonnyboy: You're a slut and a whore!
Williams/Marno/Pedro: Hello? We never hear from you! Sort it!
I am trying to land a job in the Press Office here at LSE and fulfil my dream of being a corporate slut AND a journalist at the same time. Watch this space.
I'm also relocating accommodation-wise, probably to Bayswater, looking at flats now.
Check it one time select.
Good point: Parents' sale is prgressing, will be turfed out September or so I think. I'm therefore currently purchasing a 1 bed flat in Camberley, hopefully done by end August. When I'm in I shall invite a select few to view my capacious abode.

Further update:
Well it's all kicking off, both accommodation and jobwise for me.
I will be moving in to No. 35 Spring Street, W2 as of 27th August, if anyone fancies coming down for a bit of an old barney and a bit of an old mooch the location is as follows:
Spring Street, W2, LondresAnd I have also rather cunningly managed to land a permanent role at the Stock Exchange, selling their events rather than their venue. Check it one time.
LSE Training EventsSo in short, if you're down London way, give us a shout and we'll go for a bev.

We both sleep on the sofa.
I still think you may be doing something wrong.
Miss Rosie and I have been trying since last April, and I'm pleased to say that we finally may have sold our tiny little flat (STC). So w00t all round and expect us to be moving somewhere where will will have the luxury of:

a guest bedroom!!!

more than one small square foot of floorspace for people to crash on.

Once this miracle occurs, you can bet your ass we'll be inviting you all down for a festing extravaganza!
Nice one Centurian! I'll keep everything crossed for you.

I had exactly the same thought Dannyboy.
There is indeed plenty of time for all that. It's bad enough everyone getting married all over the shop. Bloody grown-ups.

South of the river - controversial.
I think the Beefmeister still lives round those parts.
Haha. You now live about 2 miles from Muir, Dyer and Wallace as well as a couple of my friends from uni. Why is the entire world moving to south london?
Fancy going for a round of golf sometime? There is a cool casual course near there. I think it is on Wandsworth common.
Maybe when the weather is a bit more inviting.

I retract my previous statement.
As for the round of golf, absolutely with bells on.
At long last, the Rosie and me have finally moved into our new abode!
We may well try and warm it at some stage, but that will be once we have managed to unpack everything... (5 years maybe?)
Anyway so you know:
1 Peter St
Bradninch
Exeter
EX5 4NX
If you feel like stopping by then be our guests! It's quite handy as a stop over for cornwall / the southwest being not far off the M5 just north of Exeter.
Yes, it's very nice...probably best to wait until they've got a spare bed before you visit though; their blow-up mattress ain't all that.

Those of you who remember Vicky Ashley might be interested to know that she is now engaged.
It seems unlikely that her fiance used Dave's 'buy us a door' opening gambit but you never know.

I moved flat again and am now in Hammersmith, W6
But seeing as how none of you are in London and have decided to scatter yourself across the UK its largely irrelevant.
Its a nice flat though so if you're ever down/up this way give us a shout
Congrats Sampie. You have a few St. Alban / Cambridge 'suburbians' who are not too far away. Organise a housewarming!

I had an idea for selling insults online. Punters sign up, explain why a person needs insulting, then you create an original and colorful insult which is then emailed to the victim / posted on twitter / live on the website. It could be a freemium type service with free insults not as amazing as the paid for ones, which would have the premium features of being posted all over the social networks. I could build the site. You could create the insults. Sit back, insult people and rake in the cash?
Alternatively you could look for something that's likely to make money...
